Shena Etulain: What my college does is the tuition deferment. They defer our tuition payment (meaning we do not have to pay it within a certain time period), and for me it is usually 2 months. By then, I have my financial aid already, so I don't have to worry. Ask your college if they do the same thing.
Dorris Homola: In this time of the year everyone seems to ask something similar to this. The answer is financial aid is not applied until 10 days before classes begin. When you qualify for financial aid and have your file completed, the classes go on hold until financial aid can be applied. Whatever is left over from financial aid is then sent to qualifying bookstore for books and supplies and by mid semester if anything is left it given as a check to the student.Financial aid is always applied 10 days before classes begin...Show more
