Eli Trapeni: No, you will NOT serve jail time.No state can put you in jail for not having money.But they can deny you license to drive.With the speeding ticket, they can give you time to pay it if you are broke.But insurance they tend to be picky about.If you really can not afford insurance, I suggest you quickly sell the car.That way they know you won't be able to drive it any more, and won't be a risk to others.They may just drop the insurance thing then.And from the sale of the car, you should have enough to pay the speeding ticket.If you sell it to a friend, they can sell it back to you later, when you have enough for insurance.Or you can get insurance before the court date.Put it on your parent's policy if nothing else.But you can't go into that court empty handed, with an uninsured car.Y! ou either need insurance or no car....Show more

Amina Mo! tzer: You will serve jail time for the amount of the fine owed... AND points on your license.... if you just got a ticket for NO PROOF of insurance, then get some and get it back dated. You can clear that type of ticket easy because you just didnt have insurance ON YOU at the time.
