Lester Haschke: no. its a false equivalency because a meat eater can eat vegan food.
Lahoma Beadell: Negative.
Wilburn Denice: Yes that is the darker side of human nature, if you want to play outside to sandbox, people in it like to throw the sand at you. They like convenient targets, pariahs and scapegoats. Don't let any ones criticism or teasing comprise your beliefs,
Joesph Smithmyer: the guests should accept and appreciate the food that the host has prepared. one meal without meat won't harm you, you might even enjoy it!.
Susan Rambo: My perception to this is : an omnivore eats everything , a vegan does not , so an omnivore can make something extra for the vegan. Reversing this , a vegan has a plant based diet, which the omnivore eats, therefore the vegan does not have to cook anything non vegan. However, some of my visitors are complaining for not cooking meat, but they really have no idea how the meat smells to a vegan......Show more
Ch! astity Doderer: The host decides the menu. However, I think that if the host refuses to accommodate people with issues such as food allergies and the like, then they aren't very gracious hosts.
Spencer Heidtbrink: a good host should always have options for everyone - vegans vegetarians and meat eaters. Being a vegan is your way of life, not everyone's, me being a meat eater does not want to feel forced to eat a vegans way, don't get me wrong I would have a go but as an option. All I'm saying is at least ask people before hand if they open to eating vegan - that way you know what to get....Show more
Alden Sabio: not the same thing at all. don't act like a whiney @sshole. just be gracious and eat what's put in front of you. you're not going to starve or die from protein deficiency if you eat ONE meal without meat. Mee Blume! nfeld: What's good about meat? It is very tasty, is an excelle! nt source of protein, iron and other nutrients. The thing I find odd about vegetarians and especially vegans is their total denial that their choice of diet is purely moral. There is no health benefit to it that can't be achieved with a balanced diet that includes meat....Show more
Elinore Schlinker: No! Vegans dont' cook meat! Its' against our ethical principals! Its' not going to hurt the meat eaters to eat vegan food one time!
Chi Alfero: If an non-vegan invites a vegan guest to their home for dinner I feel that it is the host's responsibility to prepare some foods at least that a vegan can eat. It is the same if you invite a person who is on a restricted diet for health reasons. So in theory you would think the alternative is true, that a vegan host who invites a non-vegan guest should be willing to prepare a meat dish. However as a person who eats meat I would, as a rule, not expect a meat dish if invited to a vegan's house. There are a number of dishes ! that are suitable I feel that are vegan and that I would enjoy, in fact I eat several on a regular basis at home. At the most a vegan host may look at preparing a vegetarian dish for these guests using cheese (and no, not vegan cheese) or other dairy however that is up to the host....Show more
Leif Serabia: No. Not eating meat usually doesn't go against anyone's principles. I'm an atheist and I would make kosher food for a Jewish guest, but I wouldn't expect a Jewish host to make me non-kosher food since I have no reason to avoid kosher food.
Gordon Showes: Cause, 70% of americans eat meat and vegetarians dont eat meat and so they find it odd , meat eaters think that how could u resist it its just not right
Luke Creitz: No. My sister became vegetarian a few years ago. She went to a vegetarian/vegan restaurant with her husband. He enjoyed the meal and said he didn't miss that there wasn't meat in it. If a meat eater can't go one meat without meat they! have a serious problem
Christiane Cattano: No because unless the! re a carnivorian and can eat meat and only meat. If so don't invite them.
Hilton Paiva: Yes absolutely. Especially at Thanksgiving & Easter.
Mario Stricklan: Normal is always regarded as odd by those who have become entrenched into a group mentality that such and such activity is "normal" to them even though it is abnormal to the rest of the culture..gutless people who follow the heard, do what is popular, you look better that way.......Show more
Francisco Schonhardt: Yes, otherwise I wouldn't go to their parties.
Dalila Yoon: I don't think so. If I were vegan I would not. Meat eaters eat vegetarian food, vegans don't eat meat foods. If as a meat eater I was hosting a dinner with a vegan in attendance, I would definitely offer vegan fare along with the meat foods.
Heidi Creselious: I do not think this makes any sense at all if your invited to a meal you eat what is served if you cannot than bring something of your own to eat. The reality is m! ost of society consumes meat therefore vegans usually try to associate with other vegans. I do not think a devote vegan will make any meat dishes they may make meat like dishes using some type of plant derived meat substance but all in all why would a vegan go against there lifestyle and morality to feed someone meat not happening....Show more
Nikki Sypult: If they are a decent host they should at least make a offer to cater to their guest or ask them if they are willing to bring something for themselves to eat, it's the polite thing to do.Of course if you host them then you must offer them the same. But remember, most vegans want people to bend over backwards for them. If they don't then I simply wouldn't attend and I wouldn't invite them to my house. If they can't extend a common curtsy then I don't want anything to do with them....Show more
Marvel Mcaulay: No because it works both ways, you can never expect a host to cater a dinner party around the one Vegan! there, so why should I expect any vegan to cater a dinner around me?
Perry Deshazior: What's so good about meat anyway? Is it just apart of the human behavior to poke fun at anything or anyone that is different?
Josefine Weekey: When you are diabetic you need to make sure you are limiting you carbohydrate intake. Which means you can eat all the meat and non-starchy veggies you like. You can have fruit but limit it to 1 small serving. Your goal is to have 30 carbs at breakfast, 60 for lunch and dinner, and two 15 carb snacks. Make sure you avoid soda--its liquid sugar. Here are some low glycemic index foods (won't spike blood sugar)Meat and eggs (you can eat unlimited servings--no carbs)Cheese, Milk (check serving), Dairy ProductsCollard Greens, Spinach, squash, zuccini, lima beans, tomatoesFor starches- you need to go easy on them- only one starch per meal- small piece of bread, small serving of rice or pasta, potatoes, etc. There are some great low carb sliced bread at the store just check the nutrition facts on the back. Edmund Rappley: No, I don't think you need to. Sure it would be nice if you were inclined to but basically I think any non vegan person would have no problem eating a vegetarian dinner. You should state on the invite that the meal will be vegan/vegetarian and if the person who is invited, doesn't like it, then they don't need to attend.
Christy Tirabassi: Stop that frustration releasing!!!AHHHHAHhshhhaWithout meat you would not exist (you in particular might consider this point good)... while you do not necessarily have to consume it, if it wasn't covering your bones you would not be here.As for the last question (this encompasses the first question), you knew the answer before you asked: of course. It's also fun to poke meat.
Hilma Pestan! o: Nope. I don't go to my cousins hose expecting read meat ot my vegeta! rian uncle's house expecting meat or my Jewish friends expecting pork.
Lulu Bukowiecki: I have absolutely no idea! I personally don't mind what others eat/don't eat, it's their personal choice. And, I don't mind cooking for people who have special requests at our Winery, if I did, I wouldn't have a job. I grew up eating meat and that's fine for me, although as I'm getting older, the intake has decreased. Sadly enough, we are raised hearing people "poke fun" at a million things about others and we learn from that. Until that stops, people will be the way they are, I just let it roll off..................and refuse to be come one of them.Oh, by the way, in my opinion, Helen's answer is awesome! Isreal Kochheiser: My girlfriend is 6 months pregnant. She has been Vegetarian for 5 years and she hasn't given up on it. It is perfectly healthy, our baby is healthy and all the blood work has come back normal. This tells me that there! is no wrong in being vegetarian or vegan, I support her, but I still make jokes about meat. What I found is that if your body goes without meat for a while, you really don't need it at all. In fact I went a few months living off of her diet and when I broke down and cooked myself a nice medium rare steak. It made my stomach feel upset. I crave meat but it's more of a blood lust, so I feel like vegetarians are the smarter ones. They have strength, obedience, and control. She makes fun of me eating meat I joke about her not eating meat. It's all good, but I guess we really do make fun of anyone who is different. It is human behavior. I live on a farm. I grow my own vegetables, I eat more varieties of vegetables then her, but I still eat meat. I get made fun of more for my taste in foods then her simple vegetarian diet. I think people think vegetarian's are odd because they can control themselves and stay away from temptation....Show more
Ronnie Barcus: U slip meat into! my vegetarian friends food whenever she eats here . Because I care .
Terresa Tsasie: No. The situations are not comparable. Vegans can only eat certain foods, whereas omnivores can eat vegan foods and probably regularly do so without even realising. Omnivores have no reason to avoid vegan foods. There is no comparison.
Soraya Coodey: Ok, a quick one.Mix 3/4 tablespoon of curry powder with 1/2 teaspoon water to make a paste. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and add in the curry paste, (this is to make the curry paste fragrant), stir-fry till fragrant. Now, I am not sure how you want your curry sauce to be. Usually for curry, we add water and coconut milk to it. We would also add some vegetable like lady finger, cabbage, long bean, etc.If you just want some curry sauce, now add 75ml vegetable stock and 75ml thick coconut milk (alternatively unsweetened soy milk), and bring to a boil. Season with salt. But the sauce won't be thick. If you have some cooked potatoes or mash potatoes, you might want to mash them and mix it in to thicke! n it, this is a short cut.I have some curry recipes with photo, you might like to have a look, at http://crystalbyblog.blogspot.com/search/label/Cur...Sometimes, I just cook one-pot curry rice using a electric rice cooker, which is easy and fast (15-20 minutes cooking time, all work done by the cooker). :)...Show more
Sena Highman: Unlikely, it goes against their principles.
Evelin Turlich: Of course not. Providing meat dishes goes against a moral principle for vegans. A good omnivore host provides vegan food for vegan guests because vegan guests cannot eat animal-derived foods. However, an omnivore guest can easily eat vegan food, so there is no need to provide meat.
Debora Soliani: I eat the way I was brought up, meat and potatoes & cornbread. I'm diabetic and have been told for years about dI eat the way I was brought up, meat and potatoes & cornbread. Kalyn Proietto: i'm planning on making a tofu katsu with curry suce ontop of rice how do i make a cury sauce if i have only powder that I bought in bulk
Basil Blasingame: Yup, human society is based off of everyone being a like, and when one person stands out, for what ever reason, people have to question their selves and wonder about society itself, and it makes a lot of people uncomfortable, because eventually they begin to quesition more things, and this leads to unsettling thoughts and ideas about ourselves as a human race
Madge Voice: Not unless you feel comfortable doing it. You should not HAVE to do it just because you are inviting over meat eaters.
Chris Coggins: Their home, their food. If y! ou do not like it, the courteous thing to do would be to bring your own food. They do not have to cater to everyone's liking, and trust me, I know the double standard here. The difference is, most meat-eaters don't get all huffy when there's no meat on the table and we deal with it. Try that with a vegan when you invite them over for food at YOUR place, and they will bytch until the cucumbers come home. Would have said 'cows' but you know how touchy they can be......Show more
Monroe Rainey: I think not. Here are my reasons Veganism is a lifestyle. To go to a vegans how expecting meat products is against their morals. It would be wrong to ask someone of religion to do something against their religious morals, to me this is not different. Vegan food is not gross. Someone who eats meat can have everything a vegan eats. You do not have to have our alternatives or "weird food" such as tofu. I've been asked for seconds on a vegan chilli, had people dig into a vegan chicken ! flavoured (a lot of chicken stock is vegan) soup with veggies, pasta wi! th yummy sauce, rice, veggies, hot chips are just some of the things anyone can eat. If you were to invite someone (a vegan, gluten free, vegetarian, what not) over, you would need to cater for their diets, because they can not eat the foods, however a person who eats everything doesn't need to worry. Think about every meal like this "If I wasn't a vegan's house, would I think this gross?" if the answer is no, eat away...Show more
Esmeralda Pigram: "Should vegan host provide meat dish for guests?"No a vegan host should NOT have to provide a meat dish for their guests, and this is coming from someone that eats meat. There is yet another option, and that's to politely decline the invitation....Show more
Jacques Vaquera: There's no way an ethical or aesthetic vegan would participate in meat. It's totally disgusting. OTOH, nobody morally objects! to eating fruits, legumes, grains and vegetables, or unless your guest is gluten- or soy-sensitive, in which case you as a host should also be. Only veganism will save the planet!!!!!
Elinore Schlinker: well, i can tell you honestly that i don't have anything against people for their personal food choices. alot of people think its an unhealthy way to live without meat, so they are probably perplexed. it is pretty common where i live to be a vegan or vegetarian, i don't have a problem with their choices, but there have been at least 8 times since i moved here that i will go to the store and either have someone tell me that i shouldn't eat meat, or why its bad for me. THAT is what i have a problem with. i think its those few like that who like to harass people who give everyone else a bad name. i suppose for the older generation, they view it as being "picky". my cousin is a vegan, and at thanksgiving she only ate a few things and my grandpa just said that's nonsense,! god intended for us to eat meat, its part of the foodchain...then came! the speech about the great depression and how he had to eat what was put in front of him. i think what determines peoples' opinions is how they were raised, their influences. but you're entitled to your own choices, this is a free country, right? and you asked what is good about meat? many people find it tastes good, also it does have many dietary values, and red meat is a good source of iron and protein. but if you don't like it, of course you don't have to eat it....Show more
Tom Romer: No. Vegan and meat eaters should avoid each other during meals. If you do not like what is being offered do not go. The host is providing a free meal. What they serve is there choice. If you can't/won't eat it do not expect them at their expense to cater to you.
Eli Trapeni: Because they have been raised on "finger likin' good" adverts by parents who were raised by your grandparents who remember rationing. My mother used to feed me and my sister all the cr@p like chicken nugget! s and mini Kiev's and processed meat pies and she apologised to me a few years ago, she honestly thought she was doing the best for us. She had grown up in a time when meat was on the table maybe twice a week, to give it to your family every day was a Miracle to her. Also until you actually take the time to look at what you can eat as a vegan or strict vegetarian everyone assumes you will only be able to eat steamed veg and lentils.I feed my whole family on a vegan-ish diet and I have 3 faddy kids, think they would eat just veggies and lentils?? hell no!People fear what they do not know, they don;t want someone being the better person and taking the higher ground because it might mean they have to consider what happened to their meat before it got to the plate....Show more
