Where can I buy an ultralight aircraft engine?

Rebeca Mckin: So if you're actually NOT full of it, and are actually building your own ultralight, then of course you have done a tremendous amount of research on airplane aerodynamics and basic aerodynamic equations. Maybe you even have a copy of Dan Raymers' "Simplified Aircraft Design for Homebuilders" on your bookshelf. In that case you'd have a really good idea about what kind of horsepower you needed, since that variable alone pretty much affects everything about the aircraft's size and performance. You might have even asked "Where can I get a 35 horsepower gas aircraft engine that weighs less than 100 pounds?"That's what I would have asked, anyway. Hope you're not insulted. Finding an engine is easy. Do this search: "buy rotax 377" and that should get you started. They're also sold on Ebay Motors, Trade-a-Plane, from the manufacturers, and on Experimental Aircraft Association's classified ad page....Show more
