Renting a Cell phone for Europe?

Bell Pasco: Are you sure your Droid won't work overseas? Most cellphones nowadays are compatible with European cellular systems. Even my old rinky-dink Nokia flip-phone works in Europe, and it's four or five years old. OK, assuming your Droids are duds when they arrive in the Old World, and assuming a cell phone is an absolute necessity (I took mine the last five trips I took to Europe and used it maybe once or twice at most for each of the three-week trips), see if one of your parents or siblings has a spare phone you could borrow, making sure it works in Europe. Be sure to promise to pay the extra charges! It'll be cheaper and easier than renting a phone. Also, check with the cruise line to see if they rent phones for passengers' use during the cruise. Some offer the service.Personally, I would be ecstatic to be disconnected from the phone during my honeymoon! But, to each his own!All the best to you and your betrothed. Congratulations!...Show more
